After experiencing meaningful shifts in my own health from gardening and nature-based activities, the writer and researcher in me needed to know more. So I turned to schooling and research - and discovered how nature has impacted people in ways I could never have imagined.

Now more than ever, so many of us are looking for new ways to find well-being, connect in meaningful ways, and create more hope. While nature isn’t a cure for everything we’re facing, it’s been shown it can be a really big help and create a new path forward.

I’ve helped people eat more vegetables with my cookbook (One Part Plant, HarperWave) and have raised awareness for women struggling with a chronic health condition (Know Your Endo, Avery/Penguin Random House).

Outside of writing, I’ve been a speaker and currently host Inside + Outside podcast. My work has been included in Bon Appétit, Goop, People, and Shape Magazine, among others. And I’ve also had a lot of fun consulting for some of the best food and lifestyle brands out there.

Throughout my career, the two threads connecting my work have been thoughtful design and thoughtful ways to help people feel good. And now with my studies in horticulture, landscape design, and a certificate in Horticultural Therapy (HT) – those threads have merged together with Basker.

HT has helped me navigate some pretty challenging times in my life. It’s also helped me build a deeper connection to self and a bigger reservoir of hope (and patience) for when I need it most.

I’m eager to hear what led you here and to see what ways HT can help you, too.
